Six suspects were arrested by the police forces and presented to the press on 13 December at the Centre's regional judicial police division.
Elements of the special operation group got their hands on 205 kg of cannabis on December 2 at a place called Mballa 4, commonly known as Rue Manguier in Yaoundé. A gang of six individuals aged between 18 and 60 involved in drug trafficking in this area of the city was arrested and presented to the press on 13 December 2021.
Indeed, "The commander of the special group of operations transmitted to the division of the judicial police of the center six individuals accompanied by a significant amount of cannabis estimated at nearly 200kg. There was also 5 kg of cannabis in vein, 10g of cocaine waste," explains Emane Emane, Divisional Commissioner at the Regional Division of the Judicial Police of the Centre.
According to this police authority, the leader of this gang of traffickers is known to the police forces because he is a repeat offender, a criminal lawyer, and a follower of the sale of narcotics both wholesale and retail. He also invites the inhabitants of the city to denounce possible suspects: "If you have in your environment individuals who practice dangerous activities, criminal, you must report them to the toll-free number 1500 which operates 24 hours a day or call the special teams of rapid intervention at the numéro 117".
