In a statement signed yesterday 20 December by Manouada Malachie, the minister invites people to be vaccinated massively before the start of the football competition.
It is now known to all: access to the different stages of the CAN 2021 by fans is conditioned by the possession of a negative PCR test of at least 72 hours and a certificate of complete vaccination against the coronavirus. It is in this logic that the Minister of Health, Manouada Malachie launched yesterday, December 20, a vast campaign to intensify vaccination against Covid-19 throughout the national territory; in order to give citizens the opportunity to be eligible for the requirements adopted jointly by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Cameroonian authorities.
According to the Minsanté, about 2 million doses of vaccines and 2.5 million PCRet TDR tests are available for the occasion. The offer of vaccination is effective in all accredited health facilities, including public places, markets, chiefdoms, places of worship, public administrations and companies. In addition, "special arrangements will be made to set up permanent vaccination and testing stations in all places of sale of tickets to the stadium,"informed the member of the government.
