The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have made public the date and place of their preparation for the CAN 2021. It will be very close to the Stadium on which they will play all their group matches, in Yaoundé. They will stay there until the day before the competition.
Conceiçao, in a recent interview with AFP,expresses that "Cameroon needs tomake up for lost time". This was in response to the fundamental difference between his style and that of his predecessor Clarence Seedorf. According to him,"we must do a basic work that was interrupted a few years ago".
In his specifications, he continues, "I was asked to bring the link by always keeping an eye on the training, to try to transmit my knowledge and experience to the whole structure".
Before entering this major competition, the CAN 2021, which is played at home, Conceiçao explains one of his motivations: "One of the things that motivates me is to think that one day, in ten or fifteen years, people will remember the Portuguese who brought something different, who traced a road".
Indomitable Lions: Conceiçao will take 28 players to CAN 2021
Perhaps it is with this in mind that he has chosen the 28 players he will take to this competition. He is waiting for the players for December 27 at the Sports Complex of the Mutual Taxes in Yaoundé. In addition, it will be their home during the blocked internship that will go until January 7, 2022.
"On the 27th we welcome the players. From the 28th, there are Covid tests. And we start training until the beginning of the competition." So explains the assistant coach of the indomitable lions François Omam Biyik.
During this camp, the national team must play at least two friendly matches. Indeed, one is already confirmed against Guinea Bissau. However, we are in the process of refining the details of the second match.
The CAN 2021 will kick off on 9 January 2021. It will be at the Stade Olembé and will pit Cameroon against Burkina Faso.
