Event: the Cameroon Business Forum 2021 postponed to the Greek calends

Scheduled for tomorrow, December 15, the economic event had already been shunned by the Gicam, reason for its cancellation

The Cameroon Business Forum (CBF) scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday, December 15 in the city of Yaoundé has been postponed this afternoon to a later date, we learn from the site Politudenews.

On December 2, Célestin Tawamba, president of the Inter-Employers' Group of Cameroon (Gicam), in a letter addressed to the Prime Minister Head of Government, evoked the absence of the largest group of companies in the country at this meeting.

And for good reason, Gicam denounces the lack of follow-up of the resolutions of previous editions, as well as the refusal of the government to take measures to help local companies cope with the increase in raw material prices in this period of Coronavirus.

The CBF is a public-private dialogue mechanism set up (created in 2006 but operational since 2008) to work to improve the business climate. It is initiated jointly by the Cameroonian government and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, which provides technical support to the State for a better appropriation, in the long term, of this consultation platform.
