The fully descriptive video that showed police officers torturing a man they had initially immobilized made the rounds of social networks. See our article titled a video shows a man being savagely beaten by the police with a machete. It provoked an unprecedented wave of indignation. The footage, difficult to watch, shows police officers beating the underside of individuals with machetes.

The General Delegate for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguelé, had promised disciplinary sanctions proportional to the violation of the law. 

The program "Canal police" broadcast on Cameroon Radio Television(CRTV), announces that these police officers have been arrested. "They were taken into custody pending their removal for trial."

According to the Cameroonian Penal Code, torture is defined as "any act by which acute pain or suffering, whether physical, mental or moral, is intentionally inflicted on a person, by an official or any other person acting in an official capacity or at his instigation or with his express or tacit consent".
