Customs personnel seized the cargo on December 20 as it was on its way to Kousseri.
Elements of Area 3 of Operation Stop Illicit Trade (HALCOMI 3) seized a large shipment of bladed weapons. Indeed, 10,000 knives and 5,000 machetes were intercepted this Monday, December 20, 2021 in Mora, in the Far North region leaving for Kousséri, informs the General Directorate of Customs.
The city of Kousséri has already paid the costs of the conflict between the Arab communities Choas, Mousgoums and Massa in Logone and Chari. Given the nature of the cargo seized by customs, it could well have revived the intercommunal clashes that caused thirty deaths, several wounded and nearly 85,000 displaced to neighboring Chad.
