Boko Haram elements attacked the village of Gaboua, Mayo Sava department, on the night of Monday to Tuesday. This incursion caused the death of 4 civilians.

On the same night, another Boko Haram group attacked the village of Kotserethe near Mora in the Mayo Sava department. Two civilians were shot dead in this locality.
The attack, which took place around midnight, claimed the lives of a father and son, among others, while houses were looted in the locality of Gaboua in Mayo-Tsanaga, a department bordering Nigeria, where armed jihadists operate.
After the attack, the attackers reportedly retreated back to the Nigerian border.
Since 2014, Boko Haram has killed about three thousand civilians and soldiers, abducted more than a thousand people and displaced about 250,000 people in the Far North region, according to the NGO International Crisis Group.
