Terrorists took the lives of three students and a teacher. This happened at the Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) in Ekondo Titi, Ndian Department of the Southwest Region. The heinous crime was committed using explosive devices. The incident occurred on November 24.
Ekondo Titi's divisional officer, Timothew Aboloa, said the attackers used explosive devices and firearms on innocent students. According to him, the act was orchestrated by separatist fighters who broke into the school premises around 7:30 a.m. They had firearms and explosives in their possession. They attacked the victims without any motive.
Emmanuel Orume, 12, Joyceline Iken, 16, Emmanuel Kum, 17, and a French teacher, Celestine Song, were killed. It wasn't just deaths. The injured were rushed to hospital for medical treatment. Two of the seriously injured were transferred to Limbe Regional Hospital, while four others are being treated at Ekondo-Titi District Hospital.
The situation created some panic in the city, but the Interior Ministry called on parents to remain calm. The security forces had already brought the situation under control. Timothew Aboloa insisted that parents do not feel discouraged by the situation, adding that high security measures will be put in place to protect schools operating in the area.

In a tweet, the European Union last night condemned the violence perpetrated against schools and civilians. The European Union strongly condemned the perpetrators of these atrocities and stated that justice for the victims was necessary to ensure lasting peace in the North-West and South-West regions.
