Heavy gunfire woke up people near the city of Bamenda on Sunday morning. Residents of the Mbengwi road in Momo department in Cameroon's North-West region reported gunfire this morning in their neighborhood, Mimimefo info (MMI) reports.
According to the journalist, similar information came from Chideh and Alakuma near Bamenda, capital of the North-West region. "The most thunderous shots with multiple explosions since the beginning of this crisis," confirmed a local resident at the site. "It started around 5:40 a.m. with a very loud explosion that woke everyone up… everyone is scared and worried," another source revealed.
It would be an exchange of fire between the Cameroonian army and the separatists.
