Throughout the country, hundreds of thousands of young people will return to their classrooms after cutting for two weeks during the end of the first trimester holidays. Despite the pandemic, everything went relatively well; but vigilance must remain as recalled by the administrative authorities who hammer the message of compliance with the anti-COVID-19 protection measures.
During his end-of-year speech, Paul Biya himself warned Cameroonians about measures to counteract the progression of this disease: "I have personally noticed that most of our fellow citizens no longer respect the protective measures enacted by the government. At a time when, everywhere else, there is a second wave of the epidemic, coupled with the appearance of a new, more contagious strain of the virus, I urge you once again to wear your masks, wash your hands regularly and call a doctor or any other health personnel in case symptoms appear. This is the only way to preserve lives and curb the spread of the virus."
Cameroon deplores a number of 446 deaths due to this pandemic. Schools, high schools, colleges and universities must redouble their efforts to secure young people.
