European Clubs threaten CAN 2022
The European Club Association (ECA) has threatened not to release international players for the African Cup of Nations (CAN), from January 9 to February 6 in Cameroon, worrying about the health protocol of the event against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a letter obtained by AFP on Wednesday.
"To our knowledge, the Confederation of African Football has not yet made public a medical and operational protocol adapted for the CAN tournament, in the absence of which clubs will not be able to release their players for the tournament," reads the email sent Friday to Fifa.
