The mascot of the CAN crisscrossed the streets of the capital of the North-West region on December 16 without any popular fervor as seen in the previous cities of his tour.
In the city of Bamenda on December 16, the mascot of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) did not make his show. About twenty elements of the heavily armed law enforcement forces escorted Mola through the arteries of the capital of the North-West region. A security system linked to the secession crisis raging in this part of the country and which will not give the lion the opportunity to ensure the show alongside the populations as was the case in the cities of Douala and Bafoussam.
Less than a month before the Africa Cup of Nations, the mascot Mola has started a national tour called "Mascot Mola Tour". His time in Bamenda did not create a particular craze. On the other hand, calls for a boycott of the CAN by the separatists are multiplying on the web.
