A rarely violent fire has killed four children in the Kouogouo neighborhood of Bafoussam, in Cameroon's Western Region.
The tragedy occurred on the night of December 21 in the Kouogouo district of Bafoussam, in the Western region of Cameroon. A devastating fire took the lives of four children. Their names were Larinou Jibeum (14 months), Kérim Noubissi (3 years), Christ Waffo (5 years) and P. Mantchop (7 years old). The victims were surprised by the merciless flames in their sleep.
According to the head of the family interviewed by Cameroon Tribune, it was around 10 p.m. that the flames broke out, while he had gone out with his wife. "I had gone to accompany my wife to the agencies at the entrance of the city. She had to make a night trip," explains the father of the victims, inconsolable. Unfortunately for the four missing, an obstacle will stand in the way of the rescue neighbors: the door that Mr. Yannick Noune had barricaded. "We had to break the wall to get inside, but it was getting late," the newspaper learns.
