Police forces are super-powerful entities in Cameroon. We already knew that. While they are supposed to protect the population and enforce the law, they have long been real executioners. In some areas of Cameroon, the population prefers to hide away from the police forces to avoid suffering their abuses.
In a video circulating on social media, three men in uniform immobilized a citizen, tying his arms back, keeping the man seated, his feet outstretched immobilized. A fourth man follows the scene and makes sure everything goes smoothly.
One can hear a voice of a man of dress asking the man with whom he was. One could thus say that the police were looking for confessions.
Despite the blows of an incredible valence, the immobilized man will shout insistently that he was with no one, and begged for the clemency of the police executioners.
The scene itself is not surprising since in this Central African country, the many security forces have the right to do what they want to protect the power held by the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People since 1982, and before that also by its other name, the UNC.
