Olson Bao is one of the Vice-Presidents of the PCRN. He is outraged by the media place that has been dedicated for several years to the affairs surrounding Cameroonian football.
He believes that Cameroonians are offered endless discussions and debates on football in order to distance them from the essentials. And it's been going on for 40 years.
Here are the words of the Vice President of the PCRN:
"Meanwhile hundreds of innocent young Cameroonians continue to languish in prison. Their fault! have been critical of Mr Biya's regime. Dozens of children and soldiers continue to die every day in NOSO, and high-ranking officials continue to withhold public funds in dubious contracts for the construction of sports infrastructure, all without impunity.
In our police stations, police officers turn into vigilantes and torture simple suspects with machetes. Not far from the police station, CPDM activists block the public highway on the grounds of renewing the basic organs of their political parties, singing the praises of their invisible god and using without questioning the electoral material belonging to Elecam.
No, but it doesn't matter all that! the election to the fecafoot is indeed the most important event that can happen in Cameroon at the end of the year. Besides, everyone is talking about it, especially since the Goleador Samuel Eto'o ran in this election.
I even have the impression that my people are more interested in the election of the president of the round ball than in the election of its president of the republic.
The observation is very sad, but the reality is cruel! How did we get here? It is even to believe that it is the people who vote the president of the round ball!
So let me ask myself the question! why so much hystering around an election so we all know in advance that the outcome depends only on the ability of the candidates to convince by all means an electoral college composed mainly of voters financially not very well developed?
That's why I allow myself to sound the alarm, let's avoid this new distraction, our country is going very badly, I feel a lot of pain every time I open my phone and I view on my WhatsApp the images of our soldiers and children killed in the NOSO, although a big football fan (for those who know me), I can tell you that this election is a new distraction that must be avoided at all costs in these serious times!
Let's avoid this time consuming excessively this opium that is football, which the regime of Mr. Biya has served us for 40 years! "
