After qualifying yesterday Saturday for the semi-finals of the competition, the players of the national team made a remarkable gesture. They decided to offer 50 million FCFA to the victims of the stampede at the Olembé stadium which caused the death of 8 people and injured 38. This amount represents their quarter-final qualification bonus.
To avoid such incidents in the future, the government has strengthened the security system on
other venues that host the competition.
