This is what the Minister of Public Health (Minsanté), Manaouda Malachie reveals to the elected representatives of the nation.

The Cameroonian government's response to Covid-19 in terms of vaccination will cost 75 billion FCFA, informed Manaouda Malachie, Minister of Public Health (Minsanté), during oral questions to parliament.

According to information relayed by the Lebledparle website, the vaccination campaign recently launched by the Minsanté aims to immunize 40% of the Cameroonian population against the pandemic. The means implemented for this vaccination campaign were developed by the National Deployment and Vaccination Plan, in collaboration with technical and financial partners. "It was therefore an estimate based on the calculation of costs that take into account the needs of vaccines, the logistics in support of their deployment as well as the operational costs related to the activities of implementation of vaccination," justified Manaouda Malachie.

With a percentage of the target population fully vaccinated estimated at 5.4% according to the Minister of Health on November 28, the head of health also reveals that Cameroon has already received more than 2 million doses of vaccine since last April. Some 152,000 doses of Pfizer were received on November 29.
