They are scheduled from 04 to 09 January 2022 in the North-West and South-West in order to restore peace and dialogue in these two regions in crisis since 2016.

The deputy of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) Jean Michel Nintcheu, plans to organize meetings and peaceful marches from 4 to 9 January 2022 in the North-West and South-West regions. According to the politician, the objective of this event is to restore peace and dialogue in these two regions in the grip of a crisis unprecedented since the end of 2016.

The current crisis began on 11 October 2016 in Bamenda, with a strike by lawyers from the two English-speaking regions of the country. Their corporatist demands turned into political demands, giving rise to strikes and riots. Subsequently, groups of fighters claiming secession took the lead in proclaiming the "State of Ambozonia" with ramifications as far as the United States of America.

Now kidnappings, arson and murder are commonplace. Improvised explosive devices are frequently used by non-State armed groups. Faced with this insecurity, two out of three schools in these regions remain closed, depriving 700,000 schoolchildren of education. According to UNHCR, nearly 80,000 Cameroonians have found refusal in neighbouring Nigeria. The number of internally displaced persons is in the hundreds of thousands.
