The fugitive was extradited last Friday by Cameroonian justice to Huston, in the state of Texas.
The US Department of Justice, the institution, thanked the Cameroonian authorities for their cooperation in the arrest and extradition of Ebong Aloysius Tilong, convicted of health fraud, money laundering and tax offences. The United States is grateful to the Government of Cameroon for its cooperation and support for this extradition request," reads a statement from the U.S. Department of Justice.
The Cameroonian fugitive was extradited to Houston, Texas last Friday to serve an 80-year prison sentence. He received the sentence in absentia four years ago after pleading guilty in two separate cases of conspiracy, health fraud, money laundering and tax offences.
