The lawyer at the Cameroon Bar believes that this imbroglio is due to an opaque governance of the country's leaders.
Suspicions about the cancellation, postponement or maintenance of the CAN scheduled from January 9 to February 6, 2022 in Cameroon keep public opinion in suspense. The president of CAF arrived this morning in Yaoundé maintains even more suspense. This news pushed the lawyer Claude Assira to give his point of view on the subject. In a post dated today on his Facebook page, the President of the Bar considers that Cameroon is responsible for its own misfortunes.
"Let's have a little memory. It is not FIFA, nor the European clubs, nor CAF, nor the OMICRON variant that we will have to attack, if necessary, but ourselves. If we had done things correctly and diligently: the "vows" of the President of the Republic would be orders executed; the said PRC would have made sure that everything would go as planned on the day said in February-March 2019 …!There would have been no "slippage"; the 'slide' would not have led to covid, hitherto unknown, or to its successive variants," he says.
According to Claude Assira, many situations would have been avoidable if the Cameroonian government had managed things well. "We would not be here begging for 'indulgences' from people who are necessarily stronger and better stuctured than us. Today, our professionals playing in the major championships will find themselves caught in a conflict of loyalties (…). Economic operators would not make white hair every time an eventuality is mentioned in urban conversations and official communiqués," he laments.
