The latter were on their way to a meeting that was to take place at the Home of the Fon of Nsoh, a village located in the Department of Mezam in the North-West.
The list of traditional leaders abducted by separatist fighters is only growing. Indeed, six new traditional leaders residing in the city of Yaoundé are kidnapped in the Northwest, informs the Cameroon website.
According to the information relayed by the site, these traditional authorities went to the village of Nsoh (Department of Mezam), at the invitation of the Fon of this rural agglomeration.
For some time, abductions of traditional leaders by separatist fighters have become commonplace. These authorities are accused by the fighters "of not standing by their people who aspire to an independent state". The latest kidnapping is that of traditional leader Sheteh Nelson, Fon of Babanki, captured by the separatists on December 12.
