The cumulative sum of the budgets of these ministerial departments amounts to 1676 billion CFA francs, thus representing a third of the total forecasts of the State.

The draft finance law for the 2022 financial year was adopted yesterday Sunday, December 5 during a plenary session in the hemicycle of the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé by the President of the National Assembly, Cavaye Yeguié Djibril. The budget retained is 5752.4 billion CFA francs, an increase of 5% (272 billion CFA francs) compared to the 2021 financial year. To this end, five ministries take the lion's share.

At the top of the list, we note ministry of public works (Mintp) with an envelope of 527 billion CFA francs, followed by the Ministry of Secondary Education (Minsec) whose budget amounts to 400 billion CFA francs. Then come the Ministry of Defense (259 billion CFA francs), the ministry of water and energy (246 billion CFA francs) and finally the ministry of basic education with a portfolio of 244 billion CFA francs.

The cumulative budget of these five ministries amounts to 1676 billion CFA francs, or nearly a third of the total budget for the 2022 financial year. In the draft of the 2022 finance law adopted this Sunday in the National Assembly which will pass in second reading soon in the Senate, a focus will be placed on the commissioning of major infrastructure projects, the continuation of the support plan for the production of goods and mass consumption, the improvement of the business climate, the consolidation of achievements and the acceleration of decentralization, as well as the continuation of the health response against Covid-19.

In 2022, "the implementation of these various projects and the conduct of the selected actions will make it possible to envisage a growth rate of 4.2% against 3.6% in 2021, an increase of 0.6%. This growth will be driven in particular by a number of factors on behalf of which: the fallout from the organization of the CAN, a less pronounced contraction in the oil and gas sector, as well as the mitigation of security problems, "reads the 2022 finance bill.
