The elements of the 10th arrondissement of Douala proceeded to the arrest of the two presumed guilty.
Two thugs were arrested by the elements of the 10th arrondissement of Douala. They are accused of having raped about thirty women hitchhiking on the national n°3. A reconstruction of the facts was held in the city of Pouma in the department of Sanaga-Maritime on December 9 in the presence of some victims.
According to the explanations of the two brigands, over a period of a month and a half and with the help of a stolen vehicle in Yaoundé, they embarked their target, exclusively female at the Yassa crossroads in Douala or in crossroads in the city of Edéa. And once the victims captivated, they would take the path of the brush in order to rob them, sexually abuse them and demand ransoms from the families for their release.
"Since the theft of the vehicle on October 17, 2021 until their arrest, about thirty women have suffered the same fate. The news of their arrest spread like wildfire. On Sunday, November 21, 2021, we were inundated with other victims who came to present themselves to file their statements. At this stage, we have already interviewed 11 who are victims of the same facts. We are also in contact with several others who have not so far been able to come and file their declarations." explains Roudolphe Elong Mboule Mboule, commissioner of the 10th arrondissement of Douala.
